I have been married for almost 36 years. My wife Deborah and I have four children, all adult’s, who reside outside of the home but all in the Kansas City area. We now have 5 grand daughters. We live in Olathe, Kansas and have for 31 years. I am actively involved in the Prince of Peace Parish in Olathe. I am a Children’s School of Religion teacher and have been for the past 25 years. I served on the Parish Council from 1993-98 and as President during the new church construction from ground breaking through dedication 1995-96. I am recently reappointed to a third term (2014 – 2017) on the Johnson County Heritage Trust Grant Review Board having served two prior terms (2008 to 2011 and 2011 to 2014). This is the Board that makes recommendations to the Jo Co Commissioners on historical grant applications paid from the Heritage Trust Fund. I am the past Chairman (3 years) of the Board of Trustees of the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm Foundation in Olathe and served as a member of the Board of Trustees since its incorporation in 1997 until the end of 2003. I was the first Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kansas East Youth Services, Inc., (K.E.Y.S.) in 1986 and a Board Member through 1988. I was the last President of Live and Learn, Inc. in 1985-86 and a Board Member from 1983 before it was merged with Optimist Youth Homes, Inc. to form the new corporation K.E.Y.S. My hobbies include hunting, shooting, bicycling, walking and reading.
